Mexico occupies the first place of teenage pregnancy, with a fertility rate of 77 births per thousand young people aged 15 to 19, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

In 2014, the average age of first sexual intercourse of women of childbearing age was 17.6 years. Of the group of 15 to 19 years old, 29.2 percent declared having already had sexual relations, and 16.4 percent declared to be sexually active.
